The reasons for poor memory vary from person to person. Some individuals may experience psychological issues, while others may face social challenges or physical disabilities. The symptoms of poor memory depend on the severity of the memory impairment. Poor memory is a condition in which a person struggles to remember information, ranging from mild to severe. In medical terms, memory loss is often referred to as dementia. However, dementia involves additional features that disrupt a person’s cognitive abilities. Typically, dementia occurs with aging, but if someone notices symptoms of memory loss at a young age, they should seek medical attention, as it may be reversible if treated promptly.   • A healthy sleep: Our brain is working continuously. And when we sleep, our movements become limited, and only vital organs, such as the heart and lungs, continue to function. While sleeping, there are fewer burdens on our brains. This further improves our brain functions. By giving relaxation to the brain, the restoring capacity of the brain is enhanced. Also, some hormones that hurt our bodies become normalized. That further improves our thinking capacity. These hormones, when at their peak, disturb our thinking capacity.

Stress decreases our thinking capacity due to a saturated mind; a person cannot focus on other things. A person under stress cannot memorize things properly as compared to a stress-free person. So, managing stress effectively can improve one’s memory. There are so many ways one can manage stress.

Always prioritize your tasks on time. Prioritizing tasks reduces stress and decreases the burden of memorizing things. Furthermore, completing tasks on time makes a person a good organizer, and things done properly on time.

Vitamin B12 is an important vitamin in our body. It helps in the synthesis of layers of our neurons in our body.

  • Fish( fish contains omega fatty acids)

  • Coffee (coffee contains caffeine and antioxidants. These two components improve mental alertness, increase focus, and improve mood)
  • Green leafy vegetables. New research shows that green leafy vegetables such as lettuce and broccoli help in slow age-related brain decline and protect memory and cognition.
  • Turmeric: Turmeric is an effective anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Research has shown that it contains an active ingredient called curcumin, which crosses the blood-brain barrier and helps in the growth of brain cells.
  • Broccoli: Broccoli contains a heavy amount of vitamins, especially vitamin K. According to research best levels of vitamin K in the body help in aging brain health and protect memory.

The following are some habits that help in maintaining memory

  • Have a good sleep
  • Go for a walk early in the morning
  • Take food containing vitamins
  • Avoid toxic people and environment

Hence, poor memory is a major problem in one’s life. It affects many dimensions, as discussed above. However, identifying the problem early and seeking medical help on time can prevent further decline. So get proper medical assistance as soon as possible.
